Day of a New Volume 1: Part 10

So that next Monday after the events of Friday decided to return for a day of school. ISS was quiet almost dead. One by one we were called to the office, only to be questioned about a so called trip to Houston. I was asked where I was, I responded "I was at the skate-park having the greatest session in the world". Then told that they knew I had gone to Houston with Mike, Sarah, Alex and Sierra. Funny right because Mike didn't show for school. Sarah was still ISS waiting to be questioned and so was Sierra. "So Alex told you, right?" I questioned. Some Douche in the office told me he wasn't at liberty to tell me his informant. After a few questions like where you with Mike, was mike driving, I told them I plead the 5th. I was told to return to ISS and would be serving 30 days of Venture (Jail for School, which damn the should just made me attend my high school, its jail enough.) I wear a bracelet with the name "Jordan Ivory Craig" on it. Jordan was a friend who killed herself and on her grave I swore I would wear her name for name for the rest of my life. The rules at venture are no bracelets. So I was told to never return to Venture unless I decided to follow dress code. I never returned. Then came court, the judge ordered me to drop out of high school, which I did. I was also ordered to never return to high school in the state of Texas, and I am not to step foot on CSISD campuses (If I do they can file criminal trespass on me.) Thus the Days of a New ended, I have been asked if I would change anything about those days. No, because for us those days changed everything. Those days will follow us till the day we die. They were for us the DAYS OF A NEW.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 9

The trip continued once reached downtown Houston. The skyline came into view. Mike look like a boy in a candy store, ready to pounce on everything in reach. We conversed as we discussed how to go about our day, the trip was taken by the seat of our pants. But before we could do anything we needed gas. That was a rush. After finding enough change to make a dollar so Mike could overdraw his account. Next find a Chase Bank, this task came to my hands in control of the steering wheel. On the way to the bank we pass a Civic just meant to race so that's what I did raced all the way down FM 1960. The bank was down from where the racing ended. A quick deposit and $99 dollars overdrawn and the tank was full. The truck purred out of the gas station. We decided to stop for some lunch. We didn't have a cent to our name so anywhere worked right. Olive Garden was the spot of choice, lunch was great until the bill arrived that is. Dine and Dash, now this would have work had it not been for that Jackass Alex. The managers were alerted, only Mike and I escaped. Mike had me take the wheel and case the restaurant from I-45, we made several trips around. "We are going to have to leave them" Mike said. I respond "That's my fucking girlfriend we are not leaving her behind".  During that last trip around we found them walking along the feeder, they hoped in and we hauled ass down the highway, every so often I checked for police tails. Once we reached Conroe city limits I drove the rest of the way home easily hitting 85 mph the entire way. Once we reached College Station, I switch with Mike and leave for work. That day ended simply. And it was all over right.                    WRONG!

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 8

This was the last eventful day in our chapter. That was the day we traveled in to Houston. It rained early that morning before we had ever decided to skip. After that "I don't want to go to school, how about you" conversation, we piled into the truck. Now we had no plans just like any day before, we start by kicking up some back road dirt, then Mike asked what do you guys want to do. Let's go to. Houston. And with a half a tank of gas and a why the fuck not we headed off into the storm. Thirty miles later we hit it the rain was dense you could only see feet in front of you. Bad start right, soon after we hit 290 the storm started to clear. Houston city limits the sign shimmered, so perfect. Pit-stop & an a-temp on a skate session, bought a Black & Mild. Then we headed further into the city. Deep into the heart of Home.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 7

Thursday we attended the school that we had been trying to avoid that day was silent, underneath that Thursday grew what was to come. That day came and went as we traveled further into the days of a new the more we learned about life about freedom and about true joy, true bliss. We traveled through the back country and went off road, mudded, we even crashed the truck into a massive wood and metal gate (It gate was destroyed, the truck had no damage). We made jumps and raced through town on the thought that this is forever. The high didn't fade it was amazing. We went to Anderson- Shiro High and flipped off the people inside. Mike hit the E- brake on a back woods dirt road and drifted a good 50 feet and then scrambled to fix the tire that we destroyed the tread on. These days were magic, I hoped that would never end. But that wasn't the case.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 6

Tuesday was like any other day except I woke in the hospital my mother in the bed next to me. I guess the stress was getting to me I dunno. I skated to the gas station and started day like any other and even intended to attend school. But there was no way in hell that was happening once I saw I was late for so we skipped. Again.  This time when we rode the A&M bus we didn't stop in the middle to check anything out, just bus to bus, well and a cigarette between the two cause I mean why the hell not. We rode the 12 to my house, like always we didn't have a plan so went with it. After talking we agreed to go to the pool and swim, turns out that in autumn the water in the pool is FUCKING cold. We swam still and after begging and telling Sarah to get in the pool, I had to actually move her into the pool. That lasted about ten minutes and a cigarette. Back to my house we went up stairs to go hard on some Grand Theft Auto V. That day was my personal favorite. I laid just cuddled with Sarah it was peaceful, it was perfect! The day faded and light turned into a setting sun Mike and I were both late for work a Whataburger and Sarah had to get home. We gave our goodbye and parted ways. The night was long but bearable with Mike at work. I just skated home and crashed. Wednesday started and I woke up at Nine o'clock late, this was becoming my pattern. I made my way to the high school and could face the thought of going inside, so I left and headed for the hospital after pulling together six dollars in change with Alex so we could get some cigarettes. I slept the entire day in the chair besides my mother's hospital bed. That day seemed so innocent in the chaos that surrounded me and my friends. And so the sun disappeared and I rest as our lives changed before us.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 5

"Last stop, Trigon". We hopped off the bus and onto the grounds of A&M, Sarah talk about never seeing Kyle Field so we headed on our short walk the the stadium, now under construction. The glance was short, next we headed back to Trigon and on our way over I suggested we check out a six story parking garage in hopes if finding a sweet skate spot. We found that and ourselves in something much deep than we could have ever foreseen. Once we reach the top we smoke a couple cigarettes, and sang Jumper by Third Eyed Blind as we stood off the edge of the tower garage. Few minutes pass as we continued to converse atop the garage, to bicycle police officers rode over to us. They asked us if we were college students attending the university, we respond yes in hopes they would continue the patrol around campus. They didn't, in search of the reason we are in the garage asked more questions only to find out we were three high school students skipping a day of school. I being the rebellious son of a bitch I am question them in return. One of the officers became increasingly upset with my approach. Calling me a stupid skate rat, and throwing out other insults began the process of banning me from the A&M campus indefinitely. After apologizing to the second officer and Mike brig the point that I sometime ride the buses as a mode a transporting me from school to work halted the progress and reverse my ban. Moments passed and Mr. Anz arrived to retrieve us from the officers. The log silent ride from A&M to the high school was pure pain. Just awaiting the punishment that was to come upon return to the high school. That school or should I say what was left was spent in ISS in silence. Our punishment three days ISS to be served to full. I for one never served all three days. After school I returned to my mother's bedside at the hospital to explain the goings on of what was day unlike any before it. Then waited for the next day to begin.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 4

Monday began and I left the hospital where my mom was staying. I was skating down the Highway 6 feeder and this lady came up on my ass honking tell me to stop skating on the road. As I passed her at the light she started cussing me out, “Dumbass skater get off the fucking road, fucking jackass.” I yelled back, “You dumb bitch shut the fuck up.” I was skating through the traffic, weaving in and out. As she drove pass she was cussing and going on, I just flipped her off. About 10 blocks down a cop passed me and one came up behind me light and sirens, the works. He came over the P.A. “Stop, put your hands on your head and get on your knees”, I kept on walking, “Stop… Stop… STOP!” He jump out of his car and tackled me. “Why didn’t you stop,” he asked. I told him “I didn’t know you were talking to me.” He laughed. After thirty minutes of him searching my backpack and talking he decided that he would give me a ride up to the gas station across from the school, but with the light and sirens going. Finally, we arrived and he un-cuffed me thank god I didn’t know anyone there. Not too long after he left; Mike, Sarah and Alex made their way to the gas station. A cigarette or two later and once again we were late for school. This time without the Truck, the idea of skipping racked our brains. Minutes later we boarded a A&M bus and we traveled off into our Days of a New.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 3

After that all that the day wasn’t over yet and even with the money in our pockets we still felt that desire deep down to steal. So during our trip inside Hastings I crammed to pair of sunglasses into my pants. And that dumbass Alex stole trading cards. I walked calmly out the hardback cafĂ© entrance and everyone else out the main doors and we drove off with 50 bucks in sunglasses and Alex paid zero for his set of 100 cards. After filling our need for some trendy glasses it was that time, time for a cigarette. Afterwards Mike and I bought two Mocha Frappuccino’s with two extra shots of espresso, whip, and drizzle. And a small one for Alex, Sarah didn’t get anything because she just doesn’t like coffee. When the coffee was gone it was time to drop Sarah and Alex off at the gas station across from the school, and for Mike and I to go to work.  Our story picks back up on Sunday, after work Mike and I headed across the street to the Parking Lot ramp that we had nailed only two days before. Testing our luck one more time we started down the ramp, after a bump my hand pulled hard on the back door of the Truck and it opened. For me all hope was gone but was the ramped ended the hope slowly returned only to be ripped away by the combination of speed wobbles and Mike pressing down on the gas. I was on the ground Mike slammed the brakes and my board flew under a mustang. Now today there lay four scars on my body, one on my shoulder, two on my ass, and one very small almost line like one on my leg. That mustang that my board flew under is now somewhat disconnected from its bumper. Mike gave me a ride to my house. My Mom was inside, her stomach acting up again. Finally after hours of pleading with her we left for the hospital at 1:00 a.m. Monday Morning. Another hour in the hospital and My Mom was admitted, and only 4 hours of off and on again sleep it was time for a shower, then off to school. For me after all of this there was nothing left and I was never turning back.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 2

The drive to the Whataburger where I worked was quiet, peaceful it was almost if this event in time would never change anything. Outside was the sound of  a waking city. Inside the questions started, why are y'all in school, we made up some bullshit lies like I have a dentist appointment and he's a drop up. Finally, we ate some fries and sipped our drinks. Not too long after the fries disappeared the normal disappeared and the adventure began to unfold. Across the street there was a shopping center with roof-top parking with a steep ass entrance/exit ramp. I took my skateboard and held on to the back of the truck as I handed all my life’s value to my brother Mike; he took it and ran bombing the ramp with me on the back. I never had a doubt we nailed it. I jumped in and we headed to Bryan were we literately flew, Mike hit the railroad tracks on MLK and Texas Ave. going 40 mph there was never a sliver of fear in his eyes. You could feel the suspension bounce under the weight of the two ton truck. Still we rolled on. Next was the Skate park, where after a short session and a cigarette we met up with to two new friends whose names I will not mention. Until finally it was time to leave, and it was decided; to the mall. The ride there was short, inside was an on going conversation about pass drug use, rock n' roll, and sex. We finally arrived and outside the smoke a cigarette entered the air, and the sound of a carnival manager cussing out his employees rang loud and clear. Then its was inside, first stop Hot Topic were I stole a princess zelda figure and talked to the employees like nothing was up. Just admiring the things that I could never afford. Next was Gamestop, after that Spencer's. And as we checked the gumball machine station looking for spare candy and quarters, hid among the machines was an iPhone 4 in the most amazing condition almost new. After a quick second in the puppy store, we decided to leave the mall with that iPhone in our possession. Within an hour we were selling the iPhone. But i had to counter his offer of 100. "110", I said, "100", "105", I countered, "100", Finally "100.50", finished. We received $100.50 for a phone we found laying on a gumball machine less than an hour before. And as to fine gentlemen of the law the first thing that me and Mike bought with the money was a pack of cigarettes.

Days of a New Volume 1: Part 1

It all started on a Friday, that Friday changed everything it was for us the days of a new. 6:00 a.m. I woke up as always so fucking tried; the radio is still playing 103.9 as it did every morning. I took a  long steamy shower and dressed, told my mom goodbye. Before I lefted I smoked a cigarette from my dwindling pack. I skated to the trigon which was odd because I normally rode the route 12 too Texas A&M, i hopped on route 34 in silence up to my high school as I did every morning. I walked to the gas station across from the high school like every day before to smoke a cigarette or ten it all depended on my mood. My girlfriend Sarah made her way to the gas station with Alex(He's a true jackass). Mike drove the Truck a 1994 GMC Suburban named Shelby to school; he came over after parking it in the library parking lot. After the smoke of two cigarettes consumed my lungs, we were all late for school. It only took a minute if discussion to decide to skip. We piled into the Truck and tuned into 103.9, and left all our morals behind.
